Pre & Post Treatment Instructions

Before you decide to get any skin treatment, we suggest you read the following Pre and Post treatment instructions. You MUST follow these instructions to avoid complications like irritation, redness, swelling, bruising, skin burns, pigmentation and scars.

PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

• Do not tan the areas to be treated for 4-6 weeks
• Avoid using self-tanning products for 2 weeks
• Do not use any skincare products including moisturizers, sunscreen, deodorants, on the area to be treated the day of treatment
• Do not smoke on the day of your treatment
• Do not consume alcohol on the day of your treatment
• Avoid any aggressive treatments such as microdermabrasion, peels, Botox, fillers, and laser on the area to be treated 1 week prior to the treatment
• Discontinue AHA/BHA, retinoids (Retin A), hydroquinone, oral and topical medications on the area to be treated one week prior to the treatment 
 

 

For hair removal:

• Do not pluck, wax, use depilatory, hair removal cream, or undergo electrolysis in the areas to be treated 4-6 weeks prior to the treatment
• Shave the area to be treated the day before scheduled date of treatment
• Avoid bleaching of hair 4 weeks prior to the treatment
 
 

 

 

POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

• Redness and swelling in the treated area might last from several hours to several days. Apply Aloe Vera gel or use cold compresses if necessary
 

 

Things to avoid:

• Any form of external and internal heat sources
• Hot baths, sauna, hot tubs for 24 hours
• Hot yoga, extreme exercise for 24 hours
• Any topical irritants, glycolic, retinoids, AHA/BHA, hydroquinone, oral and topical medication for one week
• Deodorant for 24 hours 
• Direct sun exposure (Apply sunscreen for about 6 weeks)
• Sunbeds and self tanning products for 4 weeks
• Tight clothing for 24 hours 
• Picking, scratching, exfoliation for 1 week
• Laser treatments, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, Botox and fillers for 2 weeks on the treated area
• Makeup application for 24 hours. In the case of chemical or laser peel, avoid makeup application for 3-5 days
 
 

For Laser Peel:

• Strictly avoid sun exposure for 10 days
• Avoid any skincare products for 10 days
• When showering, be sure to wash hair from behind to avoid getting shampoo directly to the treated area
